Innate Full Crate
Minty Fam - meet Full Crate, a super talented dj/producer from Amsterdam. We had the distinct pleasure of meeting Narek in New York earlier this year during an intimate Yahzarah show at The Fader. Little did we know, homie was going to be dropping some buttery gems shortly after!
A couple weeks ago marked the release of Full Crate & FS Green’s Hi Hat Club Vol 5, Eggs and Pancakes - a project where each of the musical genius’ contributed 6 jams + a little extra courtesy of the fresh Melting Pot Music Label. Last week we caught up with Full Crate to get some more insight on his music and then some.
What is the best thing that happened to you today?
Seeing how my 5 year old brother is conducting and mimicking the movements of the conductor in the Disney Fantasia Cartoon Movie.
What is the Hi Hat Club and how did you get involved?
Its a beat series that has been released by Melting Pot Music on vinyl + digi. Every vol. MPM invites a producer (or two) to release there stuff.
What were you inspirations for the jam “Thursday” on the new Eggs & Pancakes? Can’t. stop. listening. to. it.
I was chilling with a good friend of mine and was listening to different music. When I got inspired I started working on the melody an the instrumental. After that i started searching for some acapella parts and so it happened the Jill Scott 12” was still on my turntable from previese listening sessions. So I chopped it up and the rest is history.
What is the story behind http://www.mixingmonthly.net/ ?
Me and FS Green decided to record a mixtape every month, cuz we felt like there was not enough people pushing the right music. So we hooked with Nalden (who endorsed + hosted the whole thing) + with Deluge (aka Punchdouble) and Brian Elstak and they delivered crazy ass artwork each month.
What are you looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to my new release on Killowattmusic (London). A 7” with some uptempo stuff dropping end of this month.
