Mux Mool Interview

What do you get when you grow up going to raves, listen to Wu Tang and have a dad who makes you personal mixtapes?  Mux Mool.  What the heck is a Mux Mool?  Nobody really knows what this name means as it was given to Brian Lindgren as a idea for his music project via a Myspace bulletin in 2006 (remember those?).  Besides rolling off the tongue nicely, Mux Mool has absolutely no deep meaning, which is makes total sense since Mr. Mool doesn’t take himself too seriously as a musician.  Maybe this is the secret to his musical success - the music really speaks for itself.  Not over-produced, nor under-produced, it’s just about right.

Mux Mool seamlessly combines hip hop head-nodding sampled rhythm with grumpy spaced-out electronic boom bap to conjure up an amazing mixture of musical pleasure.  We recently caught up with Mux Mool for what was to be a quick Skype interview that turned out to be nearly 40 minutes.  In the course of that time we talked about Mux’s influences, the days of Myspace, rave culture, Odd Future and much more.

Stream our interview below and enjoy - it really was great to get insight (and laughs) from Mux on a number of topics.
