Greetings! The Mint Collective is a group of people from different beats all using their blessings to promote, market & increase visibility for creative endeavors.
We ♥ music, art, creativity, traveling, technology, food and drink, love, life, laughing and lots more. Its fun, really, sometimes even splendid.
Last year we met this dude, Def Sound, from LA. He was really very chill, hilarious, intelligent, super musically talented, plus he had bad-ass hair. Winner! Def is currently touring with J*Davey and Blu and continues to be one of the freshest wordsmiths around. According to Def and Nikko Gray’s latest Ustream last week, we should expect a collab with the 2 of them soon!
The video to accompany the sweet self-described “trillwave” (it’s a new genre-get with it) track “Again”, is really pretty amazing and skillfully put together. Our good friends at Strictly Social are celebrating their 4 year anniversary tomorrow at Little Temple bar in Los Angeles. For the past 4 years Norman Mayers (Nu Soul Magazine) and Aaron Paar (DJ Destroyer/Umoja Hi Fi) have put together an event that celebrates soul music with a slew of amazing guests like Jessie Boykins III, Mark De Clive Lowe, Sy Smith, Shafiq Husayn, Afta-1, Sa-Ra and many more.

We’ve been sifting through 2012’s stand-out music, events, mixes and much more and wanted to call out some amazing contributions we’ve seen both on and offline.
It’s been an epic year of infinite blessings shared worldwide and it’s most definitely our pleasure [and mission] to share with you some of the things we find. We appreciate the support from all of you wholeheartedly and wish you health, happiness and creative energy in 2012.
Saw Nikko and Def last month at Art n Soul in LA and they BLEW.ME.AWAY. These two, independently both super unique artists with diverse and interesting perspectives and as you can imagine - when they come together it’s MAGIC.
